AMA - ALL MARTIAL ARTS COMBAT RULES

WEIGH INS

  • All Competitors weigh in once on the day of the event at any time before their division Starts.

 

ATTIRE (Inappropriate language or Imagery is not allowed)

  • Competitors must wear shorts and T-shirt/Rashguard that are clean and in good condition.
  • All competitors must wear MMA Gloves and Headgear provided by AVA Fight Tournaments.
  • All competitors must wear the following protective equipment (provided by the competitor):
    • Mouthguard
    • Groin Protector
    • Shin & Instep pads

 

MATCH TIMES

  • 3 minutes

 

GENERAL

  • The tournament format is Round Robin where every competitor fights all other competitors in their division.
  • If a competitor is called and not responding we will continue to the next match.
    • After the match we will call the competitor’s name again and if they are still not responding, their opponent is awarded an automatic win.
  • Competitors will be combined with the closest Age, Weight and Experience.
    • We will make female brackets when there are two or more females in one division.
  • We reserve the right to adjust divisions during the day of the event.
  • Restricted contact applies for all AMA Combat Events (see Contact Rules below).

 

HOW TO WIN

  • Majority decision between three corner judges.
  • When a competitor is unable to defend themselves effectively.
  • By submission.
  • The following list is considered before a decision is made at the end of each match:
    • Number of techniques landed
    • Comparison in attitude
    • Ability and skill
    • The competitor who demonstrates the most will to fight
    • If warning have been given
    • At the end of the Round Robin the three fighters with the most wins are awarded a Gold, Silver and Bronze medal accordingly.
    • When there is a tie for Gold, Silver or Bronze, the competitor who one the match between each other is the winner.

 

CONTACT RULES - PROHIBITED ACTIONS

  • Head dump
  • Slam
  • Can opener
  • Squeezing windpipe
  • Smothering (placing hand over mouth and nose)
  • Biting, fish hooking, gouging (including chin in eye socket, thumb in armpit) or hair pulling
  • Cervical twist and neck crank
  • Small joint manipulations (fingers and toes)
  • Bending fingers back
  • Head butts
  • Strikes against the back of the head and spine
  • Forward roll kick
  • Attacking from behind
  • Groin strikes
  • Striking the knee joints
  • Attacking a downed opponent
  • Elbows and knees
  • Striking from the clinch

DISQUALIFICATION

  • After two warnings of performing a ‘Prohibited Action’ listed above.
  • Intentionally injuring an opponent.
  • Actions that are considered violent.
  • Displaying poor sportsmanship towards competition such as foul language and disrespectful gestures.
  • More than 30 seconds without engaging in a fight.
  • After two warnings.

 

Registering for this tournament does not mean that you can injure the other competitors on purpose.

If you are not sure you can properly control certain techniques do not use them or you may find yourself personally liable for any resulting injuries.
