Legends marked a milestone as both Canada’s and AVA’s first official masters only Jiu-Jitsu tournament.

Across total matches, 75.8% ended by submission, broken down between submissions in regulation at 62.1% and submissions
in overtime at 13.6%. Fastest escape in overtime at 12.9%, walkovers due to injury or no shows at 9.8%, and referee decisions were rare at 1.5%.

Gi and Nogi produced slightly different profiles. Gi finished at 55.7% submission in regulation with a relatively higher fastest escape rate at 19.7%. Nogi was more dominate at 65.6% in regulation submissions.

Our brand new division, the Legendary Title Qualifier, where athletes are matched solely by age, finished at a combined 80% submission rate. The Nogi Legendary division closed at a clean 100% submission in regulation.

The data suggest that masters competitors trend toward finishing matches rather than going into overtime or decisions. Legends came in at 75.8% combined submission rate, above the 2025 season average of 70.1%, with the usual under 2% in overall referee decisions. The legends are going strong.
