AVA Spokane 2026 Stats

April 2, 2026 AVA

Spokane delivered an encouraging finish rate for a first-time AVA event, with a total submission rate of 69.8% across regulation and overtime. Gi youth led the way with 80% submissions in regulation, followed by nogi adults at 56.6% and nogi youth at 49.9%.

Looking by category, youth produced the most submissions overall at 68.8% in regulation, followed by adults at 51.6%, then Rise Qualifiers at 33.3%. There were no Throne Qualifiers, and Rise Qualifier turnout was lighter than usual, which is expected for a new city. Athletes in this division may not yet fully understand how it contributes to season ranking points and title opportunities.

Overall, referee decisions remained under 2%, consistent with AVA’s tournament average and a continued reflection of athletes settling their matches themselves rather than going to decision.

As Spokane athletes and coaches grow more familiar with the ruleset, scoring, and pathway to Throne, we expect increased interest in the Throne Qualifiers, higher regulation finish rates, and fewer overtime escapes.
